Fairway Pines Senior Living is hosting an Alzheimer’s Fundraiser on Tuesday, July 7th from 4:00–6:00 PM.

Stop by and support their fundraising efforts for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Enjoy a meal that includes hot dogs, cold salads, chips, cookies, and refreshing lemonade for $7 per plate.

All proceeds will go toward Fairway Pines Senior Living’s fundraising efforts to help end Alzheimer’s. Community members are invited to attend, enjoy supper, and support a meaningful cause.

Sinclair Lewis Days is Sauk Centre’s signature summer celebration and a beloved community tradition that brings together residents, visitors, local businesses, organizations, and families for five days of small-town fun and hometown pride. Held in the hometown of Nobel Prize-winning author Sinclair Lewis, the festival features community parades, fireworks over Sauk Lake, the Kiddie Parade, Soapbox Derby races, a 5K and Fun Run, live music, street dances, tournaments, Crazy Days shopping, family activities, food vendors, and more. The 55th Annual celebration, happening July 15–19, 2026, will feature the theme “Once Upon a Main Street,” inviting the community to celebrate the stories, fairytales, literary classics, local history, and magical small-town moments that make Sauk Centre so special.


 

Step into the storybook magic of “Once Upon a Main Street” at Sinclair Lewis Days. Parade units are encouraged to bring the theme to life with literary-inspired floats, classic fairytales, nursery rhymes, storybook characters, historic moments from Sauk Centre, Sinclair Lewis references, Main Street nostalgia, community legends, and imaginative creations that celebrate the stories that shaped our town and the ones still being written today.

Join us for the Sinclair Lewis Days 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at beautiful Sinclair Lewis Park in Sauk Centre. The chip-timed 5K begins at 8:00 AM, followed by the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 AM, perfect for kids, families, and anyone who wants to be part of the fun without the longer distance. Late registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM, with music from DJ Pete, awards following the race, and water and snacks provided for participants. Register by June 17 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. The event will take place rain or shine as part of the 55th Annual Sinclair Lewis Days celebration.

Sinclair Lewis: 100 Years of Main Street Traveling Display

Celebrate Sinclair Lewis Days at the Sauk Centre Area History Museum with the return of the Sinclair Lewis: 100 Years of Main Street traveling display.

Created by the Minnesota History Museum to honor the 100th anniversary of the publication of Main Street, this exhibit highlights the life and legacy of Sauk Centre native Sinclair Lewis, America’s first Nobel Prize winner for literature. After traveling across the state, the display is now home in Sauk Centre and will be permanently housed at the Sauk Centre Area History Museum.

Stop in during Sinclair Lewis Days to learn more about the author whose writing helped make Sauk Centre known around the world. Refreshments will be available.

Hosted by the Sauk Centre Gradatim Club, this summer series gives children a chance to get creative inside the historic Little Red Schoolhouse, located on North Highway 71 in Sauk Centre. Stop in during scheduled open dates for art activities, summer fun, and a charming piece of local history.

Most dates run from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with special hours during Sinclair Lewis Days and Time Travelers Trek.

The third Friday of June, July and August we will be hosting a food truck in each location for the community to enjoy.  Each food truck will benefit a different organization.  We will match up to $500 of the sales and donate it to the respective organization. The food trucks will serve from 11 am - 2 pm.

1. Sauk Centre Soapbox Derby Rules

   1. Gotta GO (Power & Design)
   ·        All soapbox derby cars must be powered solely by gravity.
   ·        No form of propulsion is allowed (mechanical, electrical, motors, pedals, stored energy, pushing or pulling).
   ·        Vehicles may not use moving or shifting weights to gain speed.
   ·        All weight must remain fixed and stationary during the race.
   2. Materials & Construction
   ·        No restrictions on size, weight, materials, or design.
   ·        Use screws instead of nails when building with wood.
   ·        Use plenty of wood glue for added strength.
   3. Gotta TURN (Steering)
   ·        Pivot steering is the most common and recommended method.
   ·        Linkage steering is more complex and not recommended.
   ·        Course is straight—avoid overly sharp turning capability.
   ·        Design carts to prevent tipping or flipping.
   4. Gotta STOP (Braking)
   ·        All carts must be able to stop safely.
   ·        Wheel skid pad brakes (recommended).
   ·        Ground skid pad brakes (less effective).
   ·        Caliper brakes (effective if built correctly).
   5. Gotta TOW (Return System)
   ·        Each cart must have a secure hook or attachment point.
   ·        Carts will be towed back using a 4-wheeler.
   6. Gotta BE SAFE (Safety Requirements)
   ·        Helmets are required and must not be altered.
   ·        No helmet = no participation.
   ·        Elbow pads are strongly encouraged.
   ·        Entry form and waiver are required.
   ·        Drivers under 18 need a signed parent/guardian permission form.
   ·        Forms due to James Macey by July 17, 2026.
   7. Identification
   ·        Include a name or number on the cart (recommended).
   ·        Helps identify racers from the top of the hill.

Held at the Stearns County Fairgrounds in Sauk Centre, this annual fair features 4-H and open class exhibits, livestock shows, carnival rides, grandstand events, free entertainment, fair food, agriculture activities, vendors, family fun, and so much more. The Stearns County Fair attracts more than 30,000 visitors each year and continues a long-standing tradition of celebrating community, agriculture, and summertime memories.

Concerts in the Park – Free Summer Music Series

Join us in Sauk Centre for a summer of live music at the Sinclair Lewis Park Bandshell! Concerts in the Park is a free weekly music series held Wednesday evenings from June 17 through August 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, gather your friends and family, and enjoy a variety of talented musicians and genres in a relaxed outdoor setting. From country and rock to polka, folk, and acoustic favorites, there’s something for everyone.

The third Friday of June, July and August we will be hosting a food truck in each location for the community to enjoy.  Each food truck will benefit a different organization.  We will match up to $500 of the sales and donate it to the respective organization. The food trucks will serve from 11 am - 2 pm.

Lace up and loosen up for the 13th Annual Beer & Wine Run, Walk & Stumble! Whether you’re in it for the race, the refreshments, or just the laughs, this fun-filled event promises a great time for all.

• $35 entry fee by August 24 guarantees a t-shirt
